— The Colonel yelling out to his players during "Cool Joe Loses His Groove pt. 2"

Colonel Von Pushup is the current coach of the Iron Tank FC, who is known in the Super League as one of the strictest coaches to be ever witnessed in the football world due to his application of rigorous military-style training to his players. His star player under his wing is Johann Uber.

Colonel Von Pushup is a German colonel in the Bundeswehr, it is unknown whether he continue to serve the organization or he rather put all of his time and effort for the guidance and care for the Iron Tank FC. In the past, he joined the Bundeswehr operatives and earned the rank of colonel throughout his active days. During the peak of his life, he manage to be interested in football and became a football coach by applying the Super League Coaching Exam, which he manage to pass. He later began coaching players of former and active members of the Bundeswehr soldiers in the Alps like Johann Uber, Thor, and Von Eye to name a few.

Throughout the Super League seasons, he continues to guide and teach his players of the ways of military-style football by using aggressiveness and tactical ferocity. He manage to apply military-like tactics to the field like the famed The Iron Curtain.

It is unknown whether he is the one who established the Iron Tank FC itself or if he is the recent addition of the generation of coaches for the club.

Appearance[]

Colonel Von Pushup has light skin with a light blonde buzz cut hair, moustache, and also has shining hazel eyes. He has a muscular physique like the rest of his players, he always wore an Iron Tank themed beret on his head with its crest emblazoned on to the side and also a stopwatch around his neck. He wears the standard shirt of the Iron Tank players but there is no number behind his back and he also wore military green camo pants that are tucked in black combat boots.

In various occasions like in winter time, he wore a general’s military green winter jacket that has a brown tuft around the back of his neck and a military green general’s uniform under init accompanied with a black or dark brown aviator glasses.

Personality[]

Colonel Von Pushup is strict and fierce to everyone even if they are not one of his players, but he keeps up a polite and respectful demeanour to any given time when he saw it as necessary. He is brutal to his players when he trains them since he wants to make them go beyond the limits of their body for the sake of their performance in the field. He is smart in terms of creating strategies, making him a very tough coach to deal with when facing his team head on. But despite the smarts, he is also very cunning and deceitful, showing immense pride with a smirk on his face when one of his players would assault the opposition as a part of their plan.

He also shows a bit of helpfulness even with his rough exterior in “Cool Joe Loses His Groove Pt.2” where he offered help to Cool Joe on what to do with the CDs to redeem back his musical taste and completely forgot the contract ever happened. He later then apply the song from the CDs to suffer the Iron Tank FC players after their loss against Supa Strikas, which shows a bit of a sadistic side of him.

Relationships[]

Johann Uber[]

Colonel Von Pushup has a favorable yet strict interaction to Uber, sometimes he shown extreme order like a general would do to his own subordinate. He appears as a leader figure that Uber feared although he still has that sense of loyalty and trustfulness to his star player. He would constantly yell and berate Uber to do various tasks ranging from infiltrating the Supa Strikas tent in the cold Alps to the Alpine Hotel for hacking Blok’s music player. Even with him ordering around Uber, he would not stand down and let himself see him getting harmed or ridiculed which would allow himself to be a part of a conflict just to uphold Uber’s dignity and pride, this is evident in the Food for Thought episode. It is possible that Colonel Von Pushup entrusted to Uber the club’s future whenever he is not present in some matches and practices, which is a sign that he fully trusted Uber’s guidance to his players.

Ja Nein[]

At first he had a mocking interaction to Ja Nein due to his physique and being new to the team, but after giving his insight to Colonel Von Pushup on finding the enemy’s weakness and strength which made him to commend at his intellectual performance. Later on the series, he entrusted Ja Nein to plan most of the Iron Tank espionage from hypnotising Blok to demoralising Klaus in the episodes of The Brislovian Candidate and The Man in The Iron Tank Mask respectively. Overall, he has immense respect towards Ja Nein’s abilities in the mental aspect which made a brand new change to The Iron Tank’s roster.

Thor[]

Just like Uber, Colonel Von Pushup treated Thor like a soldier that he respected and commanded. Yet there are a very few interactions that are yet to justify his full on relationship to him, Thor’s appearances are quite limited and few so the overall idea of the relationship between them are mutual and respect.

The Iron Tank FC[]

He is strict and loyal to his very own club, willing to do everything in his power to make sure that they will win in the Super League. He applied ideas for the best of his players and taught them about discipline, determination, and strength. Despite the positive aspects to his players, the negative ones can only happen when he is frustrated to his team especially during a loss. He would command them to do gruelling punishments and such in order for them to get straight back in action and to understand the consequences when they lose right in front of him.
Coaches of the Super League

Coaches of the Super League[]

He is a confident and prideful man towards the other coaches of the Super League, willing to see who is the strongest and greatest between all of them. He will never back down from a fight in a friendly or professional matches. He never shows hostility to other coaches but rather he presents a taunting and teasing interaction to Coach when they train in the cold during the episode Dat Boot. He also commends positively to coaches when they express cleverness to a situation that is used to deal against them.

Abilities[]

Intelligence[]

Colonel Von Pushup is a very calculative and smart man who is intelligent in terms of understanding weakness and strengths of players that is from his team and also from his opposition. He knows how to order his team to send formations and even who to target immediately in the right moment when he saw the opportunity. His intelligence can rival against Coach himself, yet his only knowledge can only be limited towards military-theme advances and tactics. Yet he has sufficient intelligence in analytical performance and activity observation.

Strategy[]

Most strategies that he applied for the best in his team are more on to the counterattacks and defensive measures, because he knew that with his team’s appearance and strength can benefit the most with those types of strategies. He also created his own signature hand signals that he send towards Uber’s direction to do other initiatives like signalling a formation, new motive, and even to mark targeted players in order to cripple their performance. Rather than having an open-minded discussion with his players to say their thoughts about various strategies, it will always end up to him on what his team would do in the field which is evident in Cool Joe Loses His Groove Pt.2 where most of the Iron Tank players would follow his words.

Empathy[]

Due to his strict and hard nature and along with his experience as a colonel in the army, it is quite difficult for Colonel Von Pushup to be more lenient to his players especially during a loss of a game they played. He always forces them to do rigorous exercises against their will and even yelling out commands to threaten his players if they don’t keep up the pace. This manage to cause some of the players to have a traumatic experience towards him, yet he has been respected due to his position as their coach and also as a form of honour and conduct through their experience in the military.
