Klaus is a fictional character in the comic and animated TV series, Supa Strikas. He plays as a minor character in seasons 1 and 2, since he is only a substitute player, or a "sub". But he appears more often in season 3, and even gets to be the main, or one of the main protagonists in the episodes "Suit Yourself", "Cheese, Lies and Videotape", "Own Ghoul", and "Shakes on a Train".
Appearance and Biodata
Klaus is a German-born player (who therefore speaks with the distinct accent) and sports messy, blonde hair; green eyes; and a goofy grin. Though he isn't very well-built, he is the Supa Strikas' spare striker. Nicknamed the "Supa Sub", he will automatically replace lead strikers Shakes or El Matador on the field if either one is unavailable, injured, or too tired to play.
Klaus is quite slow-minded, easily distracted, and will quickly succumb to pressure. He is seen behaving immaturely and in a child-like manner in many episodes; like "Shakes on a Train" to name one. Here he dresses and acts like Inspector VonSpector, a detective in his favorite mystery series. He also sucks his thumb time and again, has a carefree spirit, and a weird sense of humor. Thus, he is rather awkward to be with.
Regardless of his strange personality, Klaus is actually naturally talented, as proved in the episode "Suit Yourself". Sadly, his talents go to waste because of his extreme nervousness, instability of mind, and insecurity of not measuring up to his teammates', coach's, and fans' standards. He may lock himself in the shower room if ever he grows too nervous before a match.
Klaus is close friends with Shakes, and usually takes his advice, despite the fact that Shakes is the youngest player on their team.
Klaus is frequently belittled in a subtle way by El Matador due to his incompetency.
- Klaus' favorite food is bratwurst ("...Just like my Mama used to make.")
- His ideal vacation would be a bird-watching hike
- He sneezes whenever he feels nervous or overwhelmed
